Crime Stoppers is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that provides a conduit for the public to pass on to appropriate law enforcement agencies any information that they may have on a crime that has been committed or one which is being planned, in a confidential and totally anonymous manner.

Crime Stoppers is a tripartite relationship between the media, law enforcement and the community.

The Civilian Board raises required funds, provides a secure phone number and text address and pays rewards. The Media promotes the number and the successes of the programme and; Law Enforcement Agencies use gathered information to apprehend criminals, confiscate illegal substances and recover stolen property.

Currently, there are over 1,000 Crime Stoppers programmes operating in 26 countries in seven regions across the world. The seven regions of the Crime Stoppers Network are: USA, Canada, European Union (United Kingdom and the Netherlands), Australia, South and West Pacific, Africa and Caribbean/Bermuda and Latin America.

Crime Stoppers programmes globally are governed by the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers International (CSI), which is the umbrella organization that establishes guidelines and oversees the development of local Crime Stoppers programmes.

Currently Crime Stoppers is functional in twelve (12) countries, namely: Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Dominica, El Salvador, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos.
